I give Newton the credit for my becoming an author. I was happily pursuing
undergraduate work in biology and chemistry when I found myself signed up
for physics. Physics and I do not get along. Believe me, we aren't even on
speaking terms! I was forced to give up my dream of becoming a research
biologist and, instead, turned to writing--all the wrong things, of course.
Then I discovered Georgette Heyer and her wonderful Regencies. Reading her
books, I discovered I lived a former life among Regency lords and
ladies--very likely as a maid, but an observant one!
From when I began
writing, it took fifteen years to sell my first book, a Regency. Then, after
nearly thirty books and fifteen novellas, my publisher cancelled the line.
It was tough being orphaned, but I've been adopted by an e-publisher and I
hope, together, we'll manage to put out another thirty or so.
